Product Liability
Product liability is an area of law which holds the designer or manufacturer of a product responsible if that product is defective and causes injury or damage. Under current Michigan Product Liability Law, an injured person must prove that the product was defective, that the defect caused the injury/damage, and that indeed an injury/damage was sustained. Product liability cases include everything from an elevator malfunction, exploding tire on a vehicle, to food poisoning in a restaurant.
